SoC Solution

Toshiba’s major differentiator, intellectual properties (IPs), include the embedded (trench-capacitor) DRAM (dynamic random access memory), and the ARM® (ARM7, ARM9, ARM10, ARM11, Cortex M3, Cortex A9, Cortex R4F) RISC core and bus / subsystem line-up and support for system-on-chip integration.

In addition, Toshiba has specific expertise in high speed chip interconnect up to 10 Gbit/s serial communication on CMOS ASIC, mainly targeted for optical interconnect type applications.

Toshiba’s IP line-up of digital IPs includes MACs (media access controllers), processor IPs such as DMA (direct memory access), GPIO (general purpose input / output), UART (universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter), various RAM (random access memory) controllers, plus analogue IP.

Analogue IP options include blocks for PLL (phase lock loop), ADC (analog to digital converter), DAC (digital to analog converter), PHY for USB (physical layer for universal serial bus), IEEE 1394, PCI (peripheral component interconnect) , XAUI (10 Gbit attachment unit interface), FC (fibre channel), and S-ATA (serial advanced technology attachment) - all fully qualified and silicon evaluated.
