HDMI CEC Solution

In a digital TV concept there are two major ICs: a DTV chip like TC90408FG and a control FLASH MCU.  Our FLASH MCU with HDMI CEC function doesn't only take over the additional functions listed.  In our approach this control FLASH MCU can do the following  functions:

• Infrared remote control
• Keypad control
• CEC HDMI communication
• Power management / Standby control

Power management / Standby control is essential to achieve low power targets for standby mode.  Digital TV ICs consume so much power that a system never fulfils these requirements. Our MCU switches the complete power supply for the TV IC off and takes care that it is properly switched on again when required.  The value of our MCU is to achieve low power targets plus solving all the infrared and key interface issues of a design at fairly low cost with proven SW.
